Naval Chief Admiral Karambir Singh on Friday visited the strategically important naval airport at Campbell Bay in Great Nicobar Island amid deadlock from China on the Line of Actual Control (LAC). He took stock of naval preparations in this area. Officials said the naval airport INS Baz monitors several important routes passing through the Indian Ocean region.
“During the visit, the Commander-in-Chief of the Andaman and Nicobar Command, Lieutenant General Manoj Pandey informed Admiral Karambir Singh about the many active activities,” an Indian Navy spokesman said. They were briefed about security as well as the structural development and preparedness of the command. The purpose of this tour was to show solidarity with the employees on the occasion of Diwali.
