The Indian Army’s Chinook helicopter will deliver heavy machinery from Gauchar airstrip to Dham from Tuesday for the second phase of construction work under Kedarnath reconstruction. This Indian helicopter carrier has reached Gauchar airstrip.
On the other hand, all the necessary actions have been completed by the administration and DDMA for the successful landing of helicopter and unloading of machines in Kedarnath too. Three heavy machines, including the dumper, Hydra and JCB, will be delivered to Kedarnath as parts (pieces) from this US-made helicopter.
A successful landing was carried out on Mi-26 Helipad at Kedarnath on 17 October by Chinook helicopter. The Chinook CH-47 helicopter can fly at altitudes above 20 thousand feet. It can also carry more than 12 tonnes of weight at a time.

The Chinook helicopter is being used by 26 countries around the world. DM Vandana Singh said that the second phase of reconstruction work will be started as soon as the machines reach Chhamook. Necessary instructions have been issued to all the executive institutions from the government level for the time-bound construction works.
On Monday, 3312 devotees earned merit by visiting Baba Kedar in Kedarnath. The media in-charge of Devasthanam Board, Dr. Harish Chandra Gaur said that 1862 men, 1389 women and 60 children were among the visitors.
He told that the weather was pleasant from morning till afternoon, during this time a lot of devotees gathered in the Dham. On the other hand, the second Kedar Madmaheshwar and the third Kedar Tungnath Dham are also reaching regular devotees.
