These seven companies are not new, but 41 ordnance factories ranging from 120 years to 220 years old.
The Defense Production Department has forgotten that 76,000 workers are still working in these factories. In this regard, by writing a letter to the Secretary, Department of Defense Production on September 23, the employee organizations have demanded that the misleading advertisement be removed with immediate effect. Employees of all Ordnance Factories will not eat lunch on October 1 in protest against the function to be organized by ‘Department of Defense Production’.

The government had an eye on these factories for a long time. Private companies and foreign arms manufacturers are getting happy with this decision of the government. The reason being, the private companies were not able to compete with the 41 Ordnance Factories till now. Now the way has been cleared for private companies to come. Private companies like Mahindra, Tata and L&T are entering the defense manufacturing sector.
After converting the ordnance factories into seven companies, these factories will not get direct work from the Army, Air Force and Navy. As Sreekumar, the government wants private companies to compete with these factories. Now it has been arranged that private companies will also be involved in the tender process.
The aim of the government is to hand over these factories to private hands as soon as possible. These factories have land worth two lakh crore rupees, it should be grabbed. The government is facing difficulties in selling Air India. Because it is a company.

The youth are being trained by paying a stipend of two-three thousand rupees, but they are not being recruited.
