The crime branch of the Pune Police of Maharashtra and the Liaison Unit (Military Vigilance) of the Southern Command busted the gang for conducting fake recruitment for the army during a written examination on Sunday. A senior police officer gave this information.
Police said the gang was busted during the general recruitment examination being conducted at the Military Physical Training Institute (AIPT) and three people, including an army man, were arrested.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Bachchan Singh said, “We received information from the Army officials regarding the forgery of today’s entrance examination to be held at the AIPT ground.” Taking joint action, we apprehended and interrogated Havildar Jaidev Singh Parihar, Dalal Vel Singh Rawat as suspects. Parihar was posted in the recruitment office itself.
“These people promised 17 candidates a job in the army and joined another accused Ravindra Rathore to give tuition to all of them,” he said. Rathore has also been arrested.
Singh said that the plan of the accused was to recover Rs 1.5 lakh from each selected candidate. He said that the role of these suspects in relation to other recruitments is also being investigated.
