Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for Light House Projects (LHP) at 06 locations in 06 states of the country through video conferencing on 1 January 2021.
These projects are being carried out under the Global Housing Technology Challenge (GHTC) in six states of India – Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand and Tripura. Chief Ministers of all these six states participated in this foundation stone ceremony.
Light House Projects
These lighthouse projects will showcase the best use of alternative global technologies, processes and materials of the new era for the first time in the country on such a large scale construction sector.
Lighthouse projects will be launched in Rajkot in Gujarat, Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, Indore in Madhya Pradesh, Ranchi in Jharkhand, Chennai in Tamil Nadu and Agartala in Tripura. The project will include around 1000 houses at each location with associated infrastructure facilities. These houses will be more economical, durable, stronger and of higher quality than traditional brick and mortar construction.
