Every graduate who is aspiring to be an officer in Indian Armed forces must have heard of CDS examination. CDS stands for Combined Defence Services examination. As the name specifies the examination is a combined examination of to get recruitment in all the three branches of Indian Armed Forces i.e. Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force.
CDS gives the opportunity to join the Tri-forces of Indian Armed Forces. Though the examination is almost similar for all the three forces. The training for them and the training institute for it differs.

Candidates who have the dream to join Indian Navy can apply for INA through CDS examination. Those students who desire to join Indian Navy have to select INA as first choice, so as to go for Indian Navy through CDS examination

- 5 Days Interview by SSB ( NSB – Navy Selection Board)

Training For Navy Candidates in Indian Naval Academy
The training of candidates applying for Navy through CDS examination is exercised at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, and Kerala. The duration of training at INA, Ezhimala for Naval Orientation Course will be 74 weeks. The cadets shall be commissioned after successful completion of approximately 18 months of training.
Candidates selected for training at the Indian Naval Academy will be appointed as Cadets under the Graduate Cadet Special Entry Scheme (GSES) Course. The candidates shall remain under probation till completion of initial training. After the successful completion of the below given training the Cadets are granted Permanent Commission into the Indian Navy.
