Union Public Service Commission conducts Combined Defence Service (CDS) exam twice a year. It is for the recruitment of the recruitment of Commissioned Officers in the Tri-service of Indian Armed Forces. CDS examination 2020 got conducted last month i.e. in February. UPSC announced results of the same on 23rd March 2020. Result for CDS exams has been published at the website of UPSC at upsc .gov.in. The candidates can check the result from upsc website.
In CDS Examination 2020 ,7081 candidates have qualified for being interviewed by Service selection board. For various Academy which are as follows
- Indian Military Academy
- Indian Naval Academy
- Airforce Academy Hyderabad
- Officer Training Academy(for men)
- Officer Training Academy(for women)
HOW TO CHECK THE RESULT OF CDS(I) EXAMINATION 2020
Candidates need to go to the official website of UPSC. The official website of UPSC is upsc.gov.in. To check their results candidates need to go to the official website and follow simple steps
- Go to the official website upsc. gov.in as demonstrated in figure
- After opening the page go to the Examination tab and choose Active Examinations from drop down box.
- Then choose Combine defence examination (I) 2020 then this layout will open then
- After opening the relevant tab a pdf will be opened containing instructions and the qualified students name
- A PDF with Roll Number of selected candidates will appear on the screen. Press “Ctrl + F” and search for your Roll Number. If it is there in the list, you have qualified in the Written Exam.
- 7th Step: If you have cleared the Written Exam, take a print out of the PDF for future reference.
Candidates qualified in the CDS further have to appear for the SSB (Service Selection Board) Interview. In order to do that they need to register themselves online on the Indian Army Recruiting website joinindianarmy.nic.in. This has to be done within 2 weeks of the announcement of written results.
The successful candidates would then be allotted Selection Centres and dates, of SSB interview which shall be communicated on the registered e-mail ID. Any candidate who has already registered earlier on the site will not be required to do so.
How To Appear For SSB?
After registration , the SSB call letter will be sent to the candidates at their registered email ID, The call letter consist of the reporting date and time. Candidates must also carry some documents (original and attested) to the SSB Interview
Documents Required After CDS Result
After CDS result , qualified candidates have to submit documents which are under
- SSB call letter
- Matriculation or 10th class mark sheet
- Intermediate or 12th or equivalent certificate
- Original Graduation degree certificate with mark sheets
- Post-graduation degree certificate and mark sheets (if mentioned in the qualification filled in the application form)
- NCC certificates (if required)
- Identity proof like Aadhar card, Voter ID Card, Pan Card, Passport
- The final year students, as well as candidates whose results are awaited, need to have a certificate issued from the Principal.
The original Certificates are to be submitted within two weeks of completion of the SSB Interview.

About SSB Interview
The SSB Interview comprises of Intelligence and Personality Test which was conducted for 5 days. SSB Screens the candidates for the Army, Navy and Air Force. The SSB Interview procedure includes two stages of testing as stage I & stage II.
