Indian Air Force (IAF) successfully conducted Air Force Star 1 Exam 2020 for the recruitment of Airman post in ‘X’ (Technical) and ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) Group. Defence aspirants need to pay attention as the official cut off will be released along with the results as now the written examination phase is concluded. The exam dates for Air Force Online Written Exam were 04 November to 08 November 2020. It is to be noted that earlier the examination for Air Force X & Y Group (Air Force Star 1) Exam was to be held as per the prescheduled dates of 19 March to 23 March 2020. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the exam date was postponed.
Air Force X & Y Star 1 Selection Process
The selection process for Air Force X & Y Group Star 1 Exam is conducted in the following three phases:-
- Phase I- Online Written Examination
- Phase II- Physical Fitness Test + Adaptability Test 1 and Adaptability Test 2
- Phase III- Medical Fitness Test
After these three phases are concluded an All India Merit List is prepared by the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) and the Merit List/Cut Off Marks is released on the official website. The candidates whose name is mentioned in the merit list (All India Select List) are issued a call letter and are called for commissioned in the Indian Air Force.
Factors Affecting Air Force X & Y 2020 Cut Off

- Number Of Applicants
If the number of applicants for this exam is higher then naturally the cut-off is higher and vice-versa.
2. Examination Difficulty Level
If the examination difficulty level is difficult then cut-offs are generally low. If the difficulty level is easy to moderate then cut off is higher or above average.
3.Vacancy Level
If a huge number of vacancies are released then cut off is ought to be low but if the vacancy level is lower then cut off gets higher.
