Young girls of now a days is more fascinated towards working in Military. Even the Indian Military too is inducting girls in various branches of defence services.
However their tenure is of 10+4 years, means Short Service Commission (SSC) but being subject to vacancies, requirements and their performance they can be taken for a Permanent Commission. Here in this article we are going to give you details on various vacancies through which a women can become officer in Indian Armed Forces.
ENTRIES AFTER CLASS 12th
Many of you might be unaware of this fact that 10+2 passes girls too can apply for Indian Armed forces through the following vacancies:
MNS – MILITARY NURSING SERVICE – Girls with Biology subject i.e. PCB in class 12th can apply for Military Nursing service examination. These officers are responsible for looking after military hospitals (MH) along with the Army doctors.

* 12th Passed girls can also apply to become a doctor in Indian Armed Forces by giving the Medical examination of AFMC i.e. Armed Force Medical College. They will be given MBBS degree and will join Army as Doctors.
ENTRIES AFTER GRADUATION
Most of the entries for women are after the graduation. Details on it are given below:
CDS Entry: Women candidates of age 20 to 24 years can apply for this entry. They have to clear CDSE i.e. combined defence service exam held by UPSC which is held twice in a year. Women’s will apply for OTA branch.

AFCAT Entries: Female candidates who want to fly high in the sky or dream to be an Air Warrior of IAF then they have to clear an exam named AFCAT. AFCAT stands for Air Force Common Admission Test. It is held twice in a year. It is a written exam and those who qualify in this exam are called for SSB interview.
