The selected female candidates in the Military Nursing Service BSC (Nursing) course undergo 4 years of training in the Army Medical College. After 4 years of training, the passed candidates are given Permanent/Short Service Commission in the Military Nursing Service.
The rank of the selected candidate in this service is equal to that of an officer. The Military Nursing Service is one of the Short Service Commissions of the Indian Army, which is only for women.
Male candidates cannot apply for this service. The officers who are selected in the army through short service commission, they get 10 years of service in the army. On completion of 10 years, if the officer does not get permanent commission, then he can retire from the Military Nursing Service or else the officer can get a chance to serve for 4 more years. Women candidates in the Military Nursing Service are selected by the Indian Army, but the candidates have to give duty in any of the three services (Army, Air Force and Navy).

Educational Qualification for Military Nursing Service BSC (Army BSC Nursing)
Female candidates applying for Military Nursing Service should have passed Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or equivalent (12 years of schooling) examination in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany) from a statutory/recognized Board/University/ Science and Zoology) and English with 50% or more marks as a regular student. Candidates who are in the final year of the qualifying examination during the current academic session can also apply provisionally as per the condition.
Army BSC Nursing Salary
After selection in BSC Nursing, the candidate is provided with accommodation, food facilities, uniform allowance, stipend and other allowances as per the term and conditions. After the completion of BSC Nursing training course, successful candidates are appointed to the Permanent or Short Service Commission of the Military Nursing Service. In the Army (Short Service Commission) officers are given the prescribed pay scale and other benefits – according to the Seventh Pay Commission. The Lt rank is paid Rs 56100 – 1,77.500 as per Level-10.
