Apurvi Chandela broke the world record by winning India’s first gold medal in International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup 2019 on Saturday. This 26-year-old shooter got gold medal in the 10m Women Air Rifle Finale.At the begiining of the finale round her performance is not so good but as soon as the game progressed and proceeds , the momentum began to come in the performance of the Apurvi.
“I do not usually plan my scoring like that. I think, at the start, my positioning was a little off. So, I tweaked my settings a bit, which eventually bore the result,” the shooter said at the press conference after the match.
She also gets Gold medal in New Delhi on February month of this year. This is her fourth gold medal in ISSF World Cup 2019
In the final round, Chandela was neck-and-neck battle with China’s Zhao Ruozhu who had already broken the world record, with 634 points in the qualifying stage but Chandela shot the series of 10.6 and 10.8 in the final.
